Introducing the PeerSignal podcast (and our new home)
Marketer's nightmare - did it work? Interviewing GTM leaders. Our second act.
This week I lived every marketer’s nightmare. I changed newsletter platforms.
I nervously imported you + 18,435 others from Kit to Substack.
Did it work? I think so. But still… can you kindly reply “ok” if you’re seeing this?
Ok, enough logistics. I’ve got a new podcast to talk about…
Introducing the PeerSignal Podcast
This is one of the reasons I went through the whole mishegoss to move platforms.
I started PeerSignal 3 years ago.
I didn’t have a big vision, but I wanted to study GTM excellence and share my learnings. I started with a bunch of PLG explorations like this.
Then we got into broader GTM strategy topics.
Then we started tracking hiring trends during the SaaS correction, working with Corporate Bro on StillHiring.today.
All that led to launching Keyplay and getting deep on ICP Marketing.
18,000+ sales & marketing people now study sales & marketing with PeerSignal. That includes 72% of Cloud 100, with members from Snowflake, Figma, Slack, Zapier, Qualtrics, Adobe, Gong, Salesforce, and Clickup to name a few.
As we’ve built products, I haven’t always known the best approach for the newsletter, data, and resources that we share here. But I’ve always loved this part of building and plan to keep finding new ways to participate in the community.
Today we’re starting Act 2.
First, we’re launching a podcast. You can see a trailer here and get episodes in your favorite player.
Episode 1 with Elissa Fink drops next week. Elissa led Tableau from $5M to $1B ARR, so she’s seen every stage of growth. Today she’s a board member and advisor to many great SaaS leaders.
We all know what bad looks like in B2B. Spray and pray, turn and burn, growth at all costs. I've been building and selling B2B software since 2009. I've gotten increasingly sick of the buyer-second playbook.
I don’t think that playbook will survive as buyers return to rigor.
With the PeerSignal Podcast, we’ll be talking to GTM leaders who “get it.” The people crafting strategies, running the modern playbook, and rolling up their sleeves. A few episodes we have planned:
Legendary CMO Elissa Fink on going from $5M to $1B ARR and what great CMOs do different.
Sales math. A modern CRO’s practical approach to predictable growth with Josh Allen (CRO at Quickbase)
Jeff Wharton’s journey upmarket as VP Marketing at LogRocket.
Lessons as a 3X CMO at tech’s best brands with Tricia Gellman (CMO at Box)
Tactical ABM and how to cecome your CFO’s best friend with Kyle Lacy (3x CMO)
How Jason Widup is Building a Marketing Machine from Scratch @ Pixis ($75M+ ARR)
I’m excited to learn from these people together.
Once the podcast, is rolling, we’ll also be getting back to our roots — research & analysis for GTM leaders.
Our previous work is still online and accessible to subscribers for free. A few favorites:
Right now we’re watching the AI era unfold. It’s an exciting time, and things are moving very fast. I’m excited to keep following, sharing, and learning together.
Thanks for being with me on this journey so far!
