Content Creator / Guest Analyst

Content Creator / Guest Analyst

Location: Remote - US

Type: Paid Contractor (hourly, project-based, or retainer).

Hi 👋 I’m Adam, the Co-Founder and CEO at PeerSignal.org.

I’m excited to welcome more contributors to our platform because I love participating in the creative process and learning from other content creators.

Current State of PeerSignal Content & Community

We’ve grown to ~4,800 members in a short time, maintaining a 49% newsletter open rate, and engaging a senior audience of sales and marketing leaders.

PeerSignal’s value comes from our curated datasets and content derived from those datasets — research, analysis, and insights.

We have a few content strategies that work, but we’re under optimized and need more creative energy (right now we have 1 content producer. It’s me. The person writing this sentence.).

Here’s what we think works:

  1. Research decks like this or this or this are the core output. Lots of positive engagement, but we’ve barely scratched the surface. Our datasets are a deep well. We haven’t scaled this motion… yet! We haven’t packaged existing content for any other mediums or channels… yet!
  2. Articles or analysis like this. We don’t have a blog… yet!
  3. Short form highlights from our data like this. We only do this on LinkedIn infrequently - no other channels… yet!

Ways You Can Contribute as a Paid Contractor:

  1. Ongoing: Build & Drive a Content Channel. Have ideas or skills in a specific content arena that would help PeerSignal become more valuable? Want to help launch & run our podcast or blog? Interested in expanding the formats we use today? Looking to build a video series? TikTok? Twitter? New concept?
  2. One-Time: Research Project. Do you have a research idea that fits PeerSignal? I’ll give you access to our datasets and work with you to hone your concept, package insights, and distribute to our audience. Carl Thomen was our first Guest Analyst and we’re looking for more contributors.
  3. Other: We Make it Up Together. Are you a fan of PeerSignal with the right skills to create content, find insights in our datasets, and help us grow? We’re open to many different roles and structures. Let’s talk!

  • Build your personal brand in the B2B SaaS market. We have a great audience and we’d love to put your work in front of them!
  • Work with a team that appreciates content and practices the craft. We’ll geek out and learn together.
  • Flexible, remote work model with many ways to contribute.
  • Competitive pay.
  • Opportunity to grow with a very early stage company.

You could be a great fit if:

  • You’re an exceptional writer.
  • You love to experiment with content channels, mediums, and formats.
  • You understand human attention intuitively and analytically. You have great taste, but you can also explain the underlying principles and mechanics.
  • You enjoy studying B2B sales & marketing. You’re curious about the domain. You’ll only be happy and effective in this role if you want to geek out with us.
  • You’ve created data-driven content — for a SaaS company, personal project, or otherwise. We don’t need to see a ton of examples, but we want to know that you have clicked “publish” somewhere on the internet.
  • You love early stage ambiguity, autonomy, uncertainty, and upside. This is the ground-floor. It’s not for everyone.

Interview Process

  1. Fill out this brief form to apply.
  2. If we see a strong fit, I’ll followup to schedule a 30 minute call.
  3. If we’re both excited after the call, we’ll talk about how to move forward. Since we have a wide range of engagement models, this will be a discussion.

Our Team, Culture, and Business

We’re early stage. Not “early” like $30M in funding and 150 people. I mean real early:

  • 3 person team (growing patiently, sustainably).
  • Design partner customers only (not GA, not even “early access”).
  • A little bit figured out and a lot of open questions.

If you are looking for a true early stage environment, this is a rare opportunity to build something from the ground floor.

You won’t see a lot of fancy posters or culture decks, but we’re trying to get the basics right and create an environment for all of us to do our best work. In our mind a great environment has a few necessary conditions:

  • People tell the truth and do honest work. Munger said this well: “You want to deliver to the world what you would buy if you were on the other end.”
  • It’s clear that everyone works for the customer. According to Peter Drucker: “The purpose of business is to create and keep a customer.”
  • Results matter, but learning & improving in the pursuit matters just as much. Here’s Josh Waitzkin: “The key to pursuing excellence is to embrace an organic, long-term learning process, and not to live in a shell of static, safe mediocrity.”
  • Everyone cares deeply, but makes space to smile or laugh. Larry King ftw: “What you are doing is nice, and it can be important, and it can have meaning, and it can move people, but it ain't the end of the world.”

Each new team member (that’s you!) will help shape the culture and define our operating principles.

While it’s early stage, we do have a solid financial situation that allows us invest in you pay you competitively. PeerSignal is free, but we have a business model under the hood. You won’t find much about it online because we haven’t launched yet. We’ll share all the details when we talk. Sorry I can’t say more here, but need to keep that mysterious factor going.

PeerSignal provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, genetics, sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression. We are committed to a diverse and inclusive workforce and welcome people from all backgrounds, experiences, perspectives, and abilities.
